Supplements
August 14, 2008 at 10:13 am | In Uncategorized | Leave a CommentSupplementing your training is important. It is only recently, say the last year or so, that I have really started to take some supplements alongside my training and I really wish I had sooner. The results are noticeable compared to training without. I have tried to build my knowledge this past year around improved training and diet. I am still learning as there is obviously a lot to take in but I feel my knowledge is greater know than in any previous years I have trained. The two main supplements I use at the moment are whey protein and casein protein. Casein protein I take before I go to bed, on the night I have trained. It supplies a slow-releasing protein source throughout the night, vital for the muscles you have trained that day. Whey Powder I take pre and post workout and also on my rest day. The largest amount, around 40g, I take immediately after training so it is available for muscle repair. Different plans may say different amounts to take, as of course may different brand manufacturers, so always be careful to read up thoroughly.
Feelings..
August 14, 2008 at 9:52 am | In Uncategorized | Leave a CommentIt is a busy time at present in regards to weightlifting/training. We have the Britains Strongest Man, the weight lifting at the olympics and we are getting ever nearer to Mr Olympia 2008. All of these events require the upmost discipline, strict and extraordinary levels of training and for some competitors, the ultimate rewards. For others, it will be disappointment. This can be a huge emotion. It can make or break someone in relation to their goals. It may be too much for some, others may turn it into unstoppable drive. If you do experience disappointment, in your training, in results then don’t let it put you off. Take some time, deal with it and then carry on, stronger than before. Keep focused on why you started your training in the first place. Remember that goal and keep working toward it. It will be worth it, believe me.
Happy training.
